The diagnosis of menopause symptoms
When a woman begins to experience symptoms of menopause it is not something you'll notice right away. At least in most cases, the effect is more an exercise in slow, insidious and awareness that something is very wrong. Here's the real test of whether a woman is in menopause or may be something quite different. To find for sure that you are in menopause, of course, you have to consult your doctor and get some tests. The fact that a woman has symptoms of menopause such as night sweats, irritability, headache, or irregular menstrual periods, does not say conclusively that it has begun. The first test is a blood test to determine the level of FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) levels, so if you are over 30 IU per liter while a positive sign may be at hand. Of course there are other possible diagnoses such as carcinoid syndrome, pheochromocytoma, or hypothyroidism. When a woman has hot flashes, this is due to drastic changes in hormone levels in the body. These can cause changes in the endocrine system, which helps regulate the so-called vasomotor system. Vasomotor refers to the vasodilation of the muscles that control the dilation of blood vessels inside. The endocrine system, once made unstable, can also affect mood, sleep and libido of a woman. Although estrogen levels can have a job here, studies have not found a direct relationship between hot flashes and reduced estrogen levels. Researchers believe that other factors are involved, such as stimulation of estrogen in collaboration with noradrenergenic (increased norepinephrine) that causes large variations in the regulation of body heat. The main breakdown product is created in the chemical norepinephrine 3-methoxy-4-hydrooxyphenolglycol. The rate of this substance is found in higher concentrations in women who reported frequent hot flashes, compared with women who did not. So what does all this mean? If you have hot flashes and other menopausal symptoms, consult your doctor immediately so that tests can be done. Ruling out other diseases is only the first part of the equation, then you may want to find some relief from their symptoms may begin to feel normal again.
